Attention all LEGO enthusiasts and aspiring journalists! We have an exciting job opportunity that might just be your dream come true. Brick Fanatics, the leading source for all things LEGO, is on the hunt for a talented writer to join their team.
Brick Fanatics is seeking an ambitious individual to fill a paid part-time role, working approximately 12 to 20 hours per week across a flexible rota. This role is perfect for someone who wants to immerse themselves in the world of LEGO and share their passion with a growing audience.
Here's the catch: it's not just about writing news. As a member of the Brick Fanatics team, you'll be responsible for crafting engaging feature articles, alerting readers to the hottest LEGO deals, and connecting with fans through various channels, including social media and newsletters. And if you're the right fit, there's potential to expand your role into other exciting areas, like our YouTube channel!
So, what are we looking for in our ideal candidate? Well, first and foremost, we need someone with a high level of written English, an eye for detail, and a genuine passion for LEGO. You should be able to distinguish between different LEGO themes, like Exo-Force and NINJAGO, and understand the nuances of the LEGO community, from casual fans to AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO).
In addition to your LEGO expertise, we're seeking a creative and flexible team player who can take initiative and work independently. Experience in news writing is a must, and knowledge of social media, SEO best practices, photo editing, and video production are highly desirable. Think you've got what it takes?
But here's where it gets controversial... We're primarily looking for candidates based in the UK, but we're open to applications from other regions, including continental Europe and the US. So, if you've got the skills and the passion, don't let your location hold you back!
At Brick Fanatics, we pride ourselves on our high editorial standards. We're not just a group of adults playing with LEGO all day (although that's a big part of it!). We're a dedicated team of professionals who take our work seriously, even if it's fun and unique. This role offers the potential for growth and development, and we're excited to see what you can bring to the table.
If you're ready to take on this exciting challenge, here's what you need to do: Send your CV, a cover letter, and examples of your work to chris@brickfanatics.com and rob@brickfanatics.com. Make sure to tell us a bit about yourself and why you're the perfect fit for this role. The application process includes an interview and a writing exercise, so be prepared to showcase your skills.
Applications will remain open until we find the right candidate, so don't delay! We can't wait to hear from you and see your unique perspective on the world of LEGO. Good luck, and may the Force be with you!
