Kurt Busch praises Tyler Reddick's historic NASCAR dominance
Tyler Reddick made history in the world of NASCAR on Sunday, becoming the first driver to win the first three races of a season. He claimed the Daytona 500, followed by a victory at Atlanta, and then dominated the field at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
Kurt Busch, a former champion, expressed his pride in Reddick's achievements. Busch, who previously raced for 23XI Racing, posted a congratulatory video on his X account, highlighting Reddick's talent and the team's success. He stated, 'I couldn't be prouder of you, Tyler, and the entire 23XI program. Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan's vision have come to fruition with your outstanding performance.'
Reddick's journey to the top has been remarkable. After leaving Richard Childress Racing, he joined Jordan and Hamlin's team, and his faith in him was rewarded with the 2024 regular season championship. However, the following season presented challenges, as Reddick faced personal issues and went winless in 2025.
In 2026, Reddick entered a contract year, determined to prove his worth. He responded with an impressive streak of three consecutive wins, opening up a substantial 70-point lead in the standings. COTA was his most impressive performance, starting from pole and leading a race-high 58 laps, outpacing Shane van Gisbergen by over three seconds.
Reddick's strategy emphasized minimizing mistakes, as he acknowledged the importance of managing the gap and avoiding van Gisbergen's strong performance. Despite van Gisbergen's efforts, Reddick's skill and focus secured his victory, making him a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR world.
